Windows Vista Inspirant

Barusan aku install Windows Vista Inspirant pake tools BricoPacks. Jadi ni, nginstall BricoPacks ini, Windows XP yang kita punya serasa Windows Vista.

Lumayan sih tampilannya.
Agak berat (buat ukuran spec kompieku), tapi indah dan elegan.

Google Dekstop Versi 2.0 Beta has been released.

It lets you search your entire computer, agregated news, tells you what’s popular on the net, takes notes, tells you the weather, and alerts you of new email. Let’s mark that down as the equivalent of a start bar in windows.

Google also released their Instant Messaging Program, with chat and voice support.

Wikipedia said, that Google Talk beta was released on August 24, 2005 and consists of both a service and a client used to connect to the service.
Unlike some other instant messaging services, Google Talk uses an open protocol for the IM part and it encourages the use of clients other than their own in connecting to the Google Talk service.

As of the launch date, the Google Talk client is available only for Windows (2000, 2003, XP); users of other operating systems are provided with instructions for various popular Jabber clients, such as Psi or Miranda IM for Windows ME and below, iChat or Adium for Mac OS X and Gaim for Linux. However, any program capable of using the Jabber protocol is sufficient, although the voice over IP service only works with the Google client.
Google claims they will release a specification for the voice extension in the near future.

Tapi Google Talk ni masi kalah jauh ama Yahoo Messanger.
Gak bisa ganti font. Gak ada emoticon (suram sekali.. :< ) .
Gak ada “buzz”. Gak bisa maen game.
Fitur buat call friends-pun juga gak gitu banyak fungsi, kalo temen bicara kita gak punya headset.
Aku pribadi masih seneng pake YM daripada google talk.

Ada kabar, dan udah liat sendiri nih!!
Situs sebelah ternyata setelah dicek, punya icon yang sama persis ama yang dipake web Gamatechno!!!

Ampun deh!!
Gak cuma icon, tapi penggunaan nama pun hampir mirip.
Situs sebelah inipun, menggunakan nama yang hampir mirip dengan web Gamatechno.

Kalo ini sih gak masalah sebenernya.
Mo bikin nama apa aja sih, suka suka dia.
Si A yang bikin icon-icon tersebut juga cuma ketawa-ketawa aja sih liat ada yang nyontek dengan segenap hati gitu.
hehe..

Jadi mikir deh, ini web benernya valid gak sih? Produk-produknya bisa dipercaya gak sih?
Jangan apa-apa yang dia bikin nyontek juga nih!
Wakz…

Login System tanpa tombol Submit

Aku baru tau ada cara laen buat bikin login system tanpa pake tombol submit.

Kalo mo cobain demo XMLHttpRequest login system dalam javascript, liat aja di :

Tapi yang disitu, bukan functional form sih, cuma buat demo aja.

Pake login system yang ini, user bisa login tanpa harus nge-refresh halaman, tapi keamanan tetep terjamin.

tapi nurut temen-temen gw, cara login system kayak gini gak user friendly.
Masalahnya user tuh udah biasa liat form login yg ada tombol Submit . Jadi abis isi user ama password, trus tekan tombol Submit.

IMHO, User friendlyness jadi berkurang..

kecuali dikasih semacam petunjuk. Misalnya “Form Login ini tidak dilengkapi dengan Tombol untuk masuk ke sistem. Anda cukup meng-unfocus cursor pada Input Text yang tersedia, dan Sistem akan mentransfer anda ke Halaman Personal.”

Less effective than menyediakan satu tombol ‘Login’..

The idea is cool, tp sepertinya akan terbentur masalah usability. Seperti yang banyak di komentari (via digg.com) user mungkin akan merasa bignung karena tidak tahu harus ngapain setelah mengisi username dan password. Pola yang bisa ditemui kan ada tombol submit/login/or whatsoever.
Jadi, mgk dgn menambahkan tombol login atau penggantinya kita bsia punya “a cool way to log into a system”. Apalgi klo kontennya juga via ajax .. dgn efek smoth fade in fade out seperti TiddlyWiki .. it’ll be awesome
